10 Thing Thursday: Gift Guide Edition
It’s Chriiiistmas….all ooover…the world….
Hmm, that is not true.
Five I Want to Get
1. I am obsessed with peacocks right now. If it has a peacock on it, I want it. I’m on the hunt for peacock throw pillows for my couch, but what I really really want is this purse from Etsy. You can choose leather color, ink color, and lining. I want mine to be charcoal with a teal feather and orange lining. And I want it BADLY.

2. A thingy that I can plug my phone into and it will play music and podcasts–loudly. In olden times, this was called a “stereo”. I don’t need anything but phone compatibility and an FM receiver. I think this is the one I want, but seriously, why is stereo equipment so freaking ugly?

3. This dress. And this skirt. And a man to appreciate them.

4. This framed cork board to hang in my bathroom and organize my earrings. Actually, I’d prefer a more oval one, with the kind of frame that is usually on a mirror…

5. This star sapphire ring. Or this one, only $40,000! I love star sapphires, and moonstones, and lapis lazuli…I’m a gemstone cocktail ring kind of person.

Five to Give
1. Adorable and witty baby things from my friend Jenny’s Etsy shop, The Plain Chachalaca. I have some awesome dish towels she made too.

2. I’m super into ginkgo leaf stuff for my DC friends, because those trees are EVERYWHERE here, and when properly neutered so that they do not produce their appallingly disgusting-smelling fruit, they are quite beautiful.

3. One year I gave away a bunch of these solar sun jars, and it was good. I do my best gifting when I fall in love with one thing that works for lots of people. I wish I’d kept one.
4. I like giving these Envirosax bags with a fun food item inside…this year it will be stuff I brought back from France. I’ve had my bags for years and years and they are adorable and indestructible.

5. OK, actually I would like to get this. I have wanted it for years. But, I would cheerfully give it as a gift to the right person, as I would almost everything on my go-to shopping site, Uncommon Goods.

I would like the body to fit into that dress and skirt.
“I do my best gifting when I fall in love with one thing that works for lots of people.” You’re absolutely right. It’s great when you can find something that is universal and has the potential to make many people happy.
